Scott Henderson

Scott Henderson is recognized as one of the world’s most important and innovative guitarists thanks to an extraordinary technique and imagination that allow him to range from jazz to fusion and blues to rock, so much so that he is considered the “Number One” guitarist by “Guitar World” and “Guitar Player.”

Born in 1956 in Florida, Scott began on the scene in South Florida playing songs ranging from Led Zeppelin to James Brown.
His style was formed on the notes of Jimmy Page, Jeff Beck, Jimi Hendrix, Ritchie Blackmore, Albert King, and Buddy Guy, but the path he took in studying jazz and its expressive possibilities led him to mature a very personal language.

After finishing his studies at Florida Atlantic University, he moved to Los Angeles where he played and recorded with Chick Corea‘s Elektric Band, violinist Jean-Luc Ponty, and Weather Report.

Former leader of Tribal Tech, in 1994 he returned to his youthful passions by recording his blues band’s first album, “Dog Party,” to be followed in ’97 by “Tore Down House.”
The next decade would be loaded with engagements with both Tribal Tech and various blues ensembles and the release of two instructional videos, “Jazz Fusion Imrovisation” and “Melodic Phrasing.”
