Chihiro Yamanaha

Chihiro Yamanaha has fifteen records under her belt with Verve Records, and since 2014 with the legendary Blue Note Records, Best pianist in Japan and acclaimed in the U.S. Chihiro Yamanaka is among the most prominent pianists on the contemporary jazz scene.

A native of Tokyo but resident of New York City, in recent years she has performed in solo piano, trio and with Orchestra in the world’s most important halls.

Chihiro Yamanaha has performed with major names in jazz, including Clark Terry, Gary Burton, George Russell, Curtis Fuller, Ed Thigpen, Nancy Wilson, George Benson, and Herbie Hancock.

Her debut album “Living Without Friday” in 2001 immediately placed her among the most welcome surprises on the international music scene.

George Russell called her “a very gifted and creative musician,” and the Japanese magazine Jazz Life described her as “one of the greatest talents in jazz in recent decades.”
