Jeff “Tain” Watts

Jeff “Tain” Watts got the nickname “Tain” from Kenny Kirkland during a tour in Florida when they passed by a Chieftain gas station.

In 2017 he received a Guggenheim Fellowship in music composition. Watts attended Berklee College of Music, where he met collaborator Branford Marsalis.
