Combining impeccable technique with a profound knowledge of improvisational languages, Jonathan Kreisberg has shown relevant musical and expressive consistency, both in his various recordings made with Larry Grenadier, Bill Stewart and Ari Hoenig, among others, as well as in his live performances.
A longtime regular weekly fixture at New York’s La Lanterna club, Kreisberg’s Italian tour features a quartet of excellent musicians, starting with Martin Bejerano, a pianist with Afro-Cuban sounds who has collaborated with the likes of Roy Haynes and Russel Malone, the eclectic Australian double bassist Matt Clohesy, who plays regularly with artists such as Seamus Blake, Kurt Rosenwinkel, and David Kikoski, and Colin Stranahan on drums, formerly alongside Herbie Hancock, Wayne Shorter, and Kevin Hays, among others.
