Pat Mastelotto started playing drums at the age of 10 and gained his first experiences in some local bands during his high school years.
He later worked as a session player in the Los Angeles area, playing for artists such as Scandal, Al Jarreau, The Pointer Sisters, Patti LaBelle, Kenny Loggins, and Martika.
In 1982 he founded the band Mr. Mister together with Richard Page and Steve George of Pages. The group topped the charts with the singles “Broken Wings” and “Kyrie” from the album “Welcome to the Real World,” before disbanding in 1990 due to some internal disagreements.
Pat Mastelotto has gone on to play as a session player for XTC, The Sugarcubes, Hall & Oates, Cock Robin, Eddie Money, Tina Arena, Hector Zazou, Matthew Sweet, Robyn Hitchcock, The Rembrandts, Kim Mitchell, Björk, and others, cementing his reputation as a versatile and highly regarded drummer in the music industry.
