Stefano Senesi at the age of 4, urged by his family, began studying piano; at the age of 11 he entered the Conservatory of Santa Cecilia in Rome and earned a diploma in piano, harmony and composition, deepening counterpoint techniques and practicing simultaneously in orchestral and choral writing.
During the same period, in addition to classical music, he began to gain experience in pop and rock music, playing in a variety of bands, and when he was only 17 years old he became keyboard player during a tour by Bruno Martino, a great musician who would prove invaluable to Stefano’s later career: this experience in fact brought him into contact with some producers at RCA Italiana, who hired him first as a pianist for auditions of young artists and then as a sessionman for records by the label’s artists.
At the same time he also began an activity as a musician for recording cartoon theme songs, collaborating with Rocking Horse.
His artistic career boasts collaborations with various Italian artists: Rita Pavone, Rino Gaetano, Sergio Endrigo, Francesco De Gregori, Mimmo Locasciulli, Umberto Bindi, Ivan Graziani, Fausto Leali, Luca Barbarossa, Paolo Carta, Enrico Ruggeri, Loredana Bertè, Mimmo Cavallo, Mariella Nava, Mia Martini, Riccardo Fogli, Antonello Venditti, Gianni Morandi, Giorgia, Anna Oxa, but especially with Renato Zero, with whom there has been the closest and longest-lasting professional relationship, both as session man and as co-writer.
Stefano Senesi has been co-arranger and producer of several albums by Mariella Nava, co-writer since 1990 of songs interpreted by Renato Zero, participating as author and co-producer on the 1998 album “Amore dopo amore,” considered by critics to be one of the artist’s best and best-selling albums.
In addition, he made a DVD in 2005 entitled “Masters of Nothing”(sponsored by I.M.A.I.E), a Video-musical project in which the musician (an active animal activist) denounces the gratuitous violence of the human race against animals in general (see official website or myspace.com/stefanosenesi).
Since October 2011, he has been teaching piano at Saint Luis Music College in Rome. Since 2012 he has been creating his own teaching method for piano study aimed at both beginners and aspiring professionals.
At the same time, he is engaged in film soundtrack projects in parallel with recording projects, while continuing his activities as a songwriter for the most famous Italian pop artists and as a pianist both in the studio and live.
